This Halloween, we’re engaging 5th through 8th-grade students with a brand-new cliff-hanger series and sparking creativity with our national illustration contest! Set on the far away planet, Neokosmos, Alien Kids follows the story of Francisco and Katie as they sneak beyond the fence of their space colony to explore on their own.

Melissa joined ReadWorks this summer and has led marketing and communications strategies for schools, universities, and museums for more than 12 years. She has deep knowledge of education and her experience includes student and customer marketing management, digital strategy, content development, brand oversight, and demand generation planning. Melissa started her career as a graphic designer and art teacher and has a passion for connecting with audiences and driving results that put people at the center of a mission.
