Alien Kids National Illustration Contest
This Halloween, we’re engaging 5th through 8th-grade students with a brand-new cliff-hanger series and sparking creativity with our national illustration contest! Set on the far away planet, Neokosmos, Alien Kids follows the story of Francisco and Katie as they sneak beyond the fence of their space colony to explore on their own.

Case Study: Using Article-A-Day as a Regular Part of Instruction
A sixth-grade Navajo educator, Mr. Leon Haskie, implemented Article-A-Day in his classroom for eight months, from September 2021 to May 2022. Teachers Love Us on Clever!

ReadWorks is proud to be featured as a New and Noteworthy application on the Clever Library! We only became a more accessible resource to educators through Clever a few months ago and we’re already feeling the love. You can now use our research-based learning supplements and expansive library with ease and single sign-on access.

Through Clever, ReadWorks has garnered nearly 50,000 downloads from the 2022-2023 school year alone. ReadWorks seamlessly integrates with Clever, and our standout features have drawn in a dedicated community of Clever educators:

Rate the Words: Before reading the passage, students rate their familiarity of the two to three key vocabulary words that will appear in the passage
Word Builder: Students listen to each vocabulary word read aloud by clicking on the audio icon and then practice sound-spelling connections by clicking and dragging the syllables to build the words
Word Changer: Students learn how vocabulary words vary in form when used in different sentences with this interactive fill-in-the-blank style activity
Word Matcher: Students explore word families and networks by identifying synonyms and similar words for each vocabulary word

ELL and Extra Support Features: Get directions for Article-A-Day the Reading Mindset Snapshot translated and read aloud by a fluent reader in the language you set (including English), and sentence frames in the Book of Knowledge
