Why Assign the Reading Mindset Snapshot?
Educators have always understood the importance of getting to know each student personally. The past few years have brought an increased focus to ensuring that these personal connections continue to happen even when teachers and students have not been together physically every day. Learn more about the research behind the Reading Mindset Snapshot.
How to Use the Reading Mindset Snapshot
The Reading Mindset Snapshot offers a simple solution to getting to know students more deeply as individual readers. This survey-style inventory tracks students’ joy in reading and the topics they are interested in.
Teachers can assign the Snapshot at the beginning of the year to start to get to know their students. Then they can re-assign it periodically to see how their students are growing and changing through our robust data comparison options. Finally teachers can have students reflect on their growth and change.

Differentiation in the Reading Mindset Snapshot
Teachers can assign the Reading Mindset Snapshot in a student's primary language. Currently, we offer text and audio in six languages: Arabic, Cantonese, Korean, Mandarin, Spanish, and Vietnamese. All questions automatically have human-voice audio, and the answer choices are emojis instead of text.
