FREE Democracy Online Class for Middle Grades (5th-9th grades) The Academy for American Democracy is a FREE online class focusing on history and civics education. In this class, students consider how the American founders adapted the system of government in the new United States from ancient Athens, and then trace how and why American democracy has changed since. Throughout the residency, students are tasked to make digital art such as podcasts and online zines to creatively reflect their newly gained knowledge and to help them understand the value of active civic participation. Online residencies take place via distance learning on Zoom or Google Meet and consist of 10 one-hour long synchronous sessions that fit your schedule.
