September Supporter Update

In 2023, we introduced our brand-new, nonfiction decodable texts to build background knowledge while practicing the letter-sound code. Working in step with our ArticleA-Day scope and sequence, decodables seamlessly integrate into weekly instruction. This spring, we added 50 second-grade texts to our initial library of over 100 K-1 decodable texts. Since the launch of this product, nearly 12,000 teachers have supported over 195,000 students with decodable texts.

NEW Spanish-English Paired Texts

Supporting English language learners (ELLs) is a crucial component of education nationwide. ReadWorks, in partnership with Vanderbilt University and Spanish-speaking authors, released 65 new Spanish-English Paired Texts to enhance English reading comprehension. These free resources integrate Spanish-language passages with corresponding English texts and comprehension questions, leveraging students' existing language skills to support ELLs’ reading growth and to create a more inclusive educational environment.

Welcome Celestina to ReadWorks!

Celestina Lee is a first-grade classroom teacher for over a decade, Celestina serves as a school-based reading specialist in Washington, D.C. She earned her B.A. in educational studies from Swarthmore College and her master’s degree in literacy and language development from Harvard GSE. She is passionate about elevating instructional practices that build background knowledge while reinforcing foundational skills. Celestina is joining the team as an educator support specialist.
