| LaDarrien earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Spelman College and a Master of Arts in International Law from Emory University. Before joining ReadWorks, as Senior Program Manager at CARE, LaDarrien oversaw the Innovation Hub, a physical space that leases space to nonprofits with similar missions, hosts events, and pilots domestic programs focused on strengthening emergency response in the US Gulf Coast. LaDarrien is excited to bring her community engagement, fundraising, and relationship management skills to ReadWorks to ensure teachers have access to educational resources, and students can build their reading comprehension. |

| Announcing ReadWorks' 2023 National Illustration Contest This fall, teachers and students nationwide are following Manuel’s five-part journey as he works to lift his family’s curse after a ghostly visit from his great-great-great-great grandfather, José, in ReadWorks’ new fiction series, Our Family Ghost. Students are bringing this story to life in our 2023 national illustration contest. The winning student's illustration will be published on ReadWorks! The teacher of the winning student will receive a box of ReadWorks goodies and a $100 gift card for classroom supplies.
