 | Alignments make using ReadWorks easier than ever Alignments provide easy ways to assign passages based on themes and topics covered in a classroom's curriculum, saving teachers time and planning stress. ReadWorks passages help build the additional background knowledge and vocabulary necessary for reading comprehension. Teachers can choose to print or digitally assign the related ReadWorks passages – as always, all for FREE. |
| LaDarrien earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Spelman College and a Master of Arts in International Law from Emory University. Before joining ReadWorks, as Senior Program Manager at CARE, LaDarrien oversaw the Innovation Hub, a physical space that leases space to nonprofits with similar missions, hosts events, and pilots domestic programs focused on strengthening emergency response in the US Gulf Coast. LaDarrien is excited to bring her community engagement, fundraising, and relationship management skills to ReadWorks to ensure teachers have access to educational resources, and students can build their reading comprehension. |  |
ReadWorks team gathers in Nashville, TN
The ReadWorks team came together in Nashville for a productive, collaborative, and fun retreat! We enjoyed brainstorming new ideas, sharing our partnership work with Vanderbilt University on campus, and participating in team-building activities to bring us closer together. We are grateful for the opportunity to recharge, refocus, and reconnect with our amazing colleagues, and to bring the positive momentum back to our home offices around the country to achieve even greater things for the teachers and students we proudly support!

| Announcing ReadWorks' 2023 National Illustration Contest This fall, teachers and students nationwide are following Manuel’s five-part journey as he works to lift his family’s curse after a ghostly visit from his great-great-great-great grandfather, José, in ReadWorks’ new fiction series, Our Family Ghost. Students are bringing this story to life in our 2023 national illustration contest. The winning student's illustration will be published on ReadWorks! The teacher of the winning student will receive a box of ReadWorks goodies and a $100 gift card for classroom supplies.  | Wrapping up an Exciting Fall Webinar Season Hosted by Tamika Reece, ReadWorks’ Educator Support Project Manager, this fall’s webinars were nearly doubled and covered some of our newest offerings like our early childhood decodable texts, Book Studies, Next Generation Science Standards connections, and more. Our live webinars will resume in January, but in the meantime, you can learn and share more about ReadWorks through free access to all of our webinars on-demand. |

As part of our strategic plan, ReadWorks is collaborating with districts nationwide, especially those serving primarily low-income students, through thoughtful engagement, professional development, and marketing plans. This year, we’ve launched partnerships across Philadelphia and New York City, including providing customized professional development for Harlem Community School District 5.
